13 people who received Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine in Israel have facial paralysis
As mass vaccination against a new Coronavirus outbreak continues in Israel, 13 people who received the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine suffered facial paralysis. The first dose of the vaccine was administered to more than 2 million people, and the second dose was administered to more than 200 thousand people.
According to the Israeli press,13 Israeli citizens suffered facial nerve paralysis (the nerve that leaves the brain and goes to the facial muscles) after the first dose of Pfizer/BioNTech's coronavirus vaccine." According to the Ministry's data, at least 13 people developed symptoms of paresis, but doctors inside the Health System believe that the number of such cases is greater in practice," the report said.
"IT CONTINUED FOR 28 HOURS"
One of those who had the vaccine described how strange sensations had formed in his jaw and mouth within minutes of the vaccine being administered: "it went on like this for at least 28 hours. I can't say it's completely gone, but I don't feel any other pain other than that.
"THE MINISTRY HAS ANNOUNCED THAT THOSE WHO DEVELOP SYMPTOMS SHOULD NOT RECEIVE THE SECOND VACCINE UNTIL THEY HAVE RECOVERED"
The Israeli Health Ministry announced that those who develop symptoms of paresis after administration of the first dose should postpone the second vaccine until they recover. However, doctors doubt whether it would make sense to give the second dose in such cases.
THE FIRST DOSE OF THE VACCINE WAS ADMINISTERED TO MORE THAN TWO MILLION PEOPLE
Covid-19 vaccination in Israel began on December 20, and the second dose of the vaccine began to be administered on January 10. In the first stage, health workers, medical students, Geriatrics staff, and government officials were vaccinated to be an example for everyone, and in the second stage, people in the risk group who were over 60 years of age were vaccinated. The first dose of the vaccine was administered to more than 2 million people, and the second dose was administered to more than 200 thousand people.
