Fabric mask was found to provide bi-directional protection against Covid-19

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that fabric masks have been determined to provide bidirectional protection against the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19).

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has updated the Covid-19 manual on fabric masks, LiveScience reported.

The manual stated that fabric masks have the ability to "filter", thus protecting the person by filtering droplets that have the potential to cause infection in the air.

The CDC stressed that the ability of fabric masks to filter particles is supported by studies on this issue.

Noting that many studies have shown that fabric masks benefit both the wearer and those around them, the CDC noted that in the Covid-19 outbreak that broke out on the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier, fabric masks reduce the risk of infection by 70 percent.
