China's Chang'e 5 spacecraft lands on Moon
Recently launched into space by the China National Space Administration, the Chang'e 5 spacecraft successfully landed on the Moon.
China's National Space Administration launched an unmanned spacecraft named Chang'e 5, meaning Moon God, on November 24 to collect samples from the Moon. Chang'e 5 successfully landed at the Moon's 51.8 degrees west longitude and 43.1 degrees north latitude, the Space Administration announced in a statement.
The Space Administration said that after the successful landing, the necessary checks were carried out and installation work was carried out. The administration announced that Chang'e 5 will collect about 2 kilograms of rock and soil samples from the lunar surface over the next 2 days.
It Will Be The Third Country
The spacecraft, which will travel back to earth, is scheduled to land in the Siziwang Banner area, an autonomous region of Inner Mongolia in China.
If Change-5 completes its intended mission, China will become the third country to bring samples from the moon, after the Soviet Union and the United States, the first country to send spacecraft to the moon in 1959.
