Germany bans it completely from 2022!

The use of single-use plastic bags in Germany will be banned in 2022. In the country, thin plastic bags will be exempt from the ban.

According to a decision by the Bundestag in Germany, the use of plastic bags in grocery stores will be banned from January 2022. It was announced that thin plastic bags found in the fruit and vegetable section would be exempt from the decision.

"THE ESSENCE OF RESOURCE WASTING"

"Plastic bags are the essence of resource wasting," said Environment Minister Svenja Schulze. Shopping baskets and washable cloth bags instead of plastic bags are good alternatives, Schulze said.

WWF: THE MOVE IS SYMBOLIC

 The Wildlife Conservation Foundation (WWF) said the ban was symbolic and that plastic bags used in the country cover one percent of all plastic use.
